Been busy campaigning for the cybercrime law to be repealed. That particular law will infringe on our freedom of speech, freedom of expression and right to privacy.
Under this law, anyone who is considered a cyberciminal (not an ordinary criminal) will be arrested and have his/her computer confiscated. This will be done without a warrant of arrest. What's more, cyber libel is punishable by 6 years in prison while the ordinary libel, 4 years.
If I post here or on Twitter that a certain government official is inept for not doing his duties, true or not, I can be put sent to jail for this.
Also, porn is illegal. I have no idea why. It's not anyone's business what people do in private. Of course, child porn should be banned but ordinary porn for adults should be allowed.
Law enforcement authorities can collect or record by technical or electronic means traffic data. They would be able to see everything we do online. This is crazy!
I am thinking if I should still blog. This law is really upsetting me.
This law seems astonishing to me. Makes me realise how much freedom I take for granted too.
ReplyDeleteI hope we don't lose you over this.
Hi Charles. For as long as I don't sell any "porn" pics, I'm safe. I think...
ReplyDeleteWell, let's hope so.
